Fans in Houston filled up most of the lower bowl at Shell Energy Stadium for a Tuesday night club vs. country encounter between Houston Dash and the Mexico women's national team, with the Dash cast in an away side role.
Dash players Maria Sanchez and Diana Ordonez featured for Mexico for the entirety of the first half. The club's new signing Emily Alvarado was the third goalkeeper for this encounter but did not feature. Houston Dynamo midfielder and Mexico men's star Hector Herrera was among the 6,155 in attendance as part of the pro-Mexico crowd.

The match ended in a 5-1 victory for Mexico with goals from Jacqueline Ovalle (9', 37'), Charlyn Corral (29'), Greta Espinoza (84'), and Andrea Hernandez (90'). Cameron Tucker scored the only goal for the Dash (27') and her first with the club.
