On Nov. 15, Angel City FC announced its initial roster decisions ahead of next season.
Most of the players from last season will return to ACFC as the club prepares for its second NWSL season.
The biggest news out of Los Angeles is Jasmyne Spencer will return to ACFC. The free agent has re-signed with the club. This past season, Spencer appeared in 15 games and recorded 24 tackles, 17 clearances and 16 interceptions.
Just five players will not be returning to the roster.
Rookies Hope Breslin, Miri Taylor, and Katie Cousins will not have their contracts renewed. Out of the three players, Taylor made the most appearances for ACFC playing 13 games. In addition, both Almuth Schult and Stefany Ferrer Van Ginkel will not be returning to the club. Schult made just one regular season appearance after DiDi Haracic won the starting goalkeeper position and Van Ginkel made just two appearances this season. ACFC’s third-string goalkeeper Maia Perez is retiring and will not return to the club.
“All of our Angel City players are exceptional and will always be able to hold the badge of being a part of this organization and making history together,” said Angel City general manager Angela Hucles Mangano. “As we head into our sophomore season, we are excited by the opportunity that’s in front of us and the challenge of new goals to meet.”
Always part of the ACFC family 🖤
