How to watch July's CONCACAFW tournament/World Cup qualifiers (CONCACAF)

The biggest international women's soccer tournament in North America and the Caribbean is almost here. And there is even more than just regional bragging rights on the line.

In addition to being crowned the champion of CONCACAF, this summer's tournament will also serve as World Cup qualifiers for the region. The competition will be hosted by Mexico and will also feature Canada, Costa Rica, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and the USA.

On Wednesday morning, CBS sports released its broadcast schedule for the tournament as well as plans to have an on-site studio. Lisa Byington and Aly Wagner will serve as commentators. Poppy Miller is set to host and will be joined by Briana Scurry, Kaylyn Kyle and Janelly Farías as analysts in the studio.

How it works

The eight teams have been split into two groups (A and B), with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals and by doing so will also qualify directly to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.

While the third place teams in each group (two total) will qualify for the intercontinental playoffs, to be held in February 2023. These two nations could still qualify for the next World Cup. Therefore, there is a maximum of six CONCACAF nations total that could qualify for the 2023 World Cup.

The semi-finals on July 14, the final and the match for third place on July 18 will be played in a single-elimination format, with the champions qualifying for both the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the inaugural Concacaf Gold Cup W (CWGC), which will be played in 2024.

The second and third places will also meet in a Concacaf Olympic playoff, scheduled for September 2023. The winning team of this playoff will also qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the CWGC 2024.
