HOUSTON – The President of Business Operations for the Houston Dynamo and Dash for the past four seasons is stepping down, the club announced today.
John Walker will see out the 2022 MLS and NWSL seasons with the club while the search for his successor takes place. The reason for his departure was not announced.

“I’d like to thank John for his contributions to the Club over the past few years and respect his decision to step aside at the end of this season,” said controlling owner Ted Segal. “Our club will continue to build on the momentum John helped to create and are excited about the future.”
Walker arrived at the club in November 2018 to oversee the business side of things. He was hired after the departure of former president Chris Canetti to the Houston 2026 World Cup bid.
The former NBA executive is credited with overseeing growth in the season-ticket base for the Dynamo and the Dash and significant long-term partnerships with Fubo Gaming and Shell Energy. Walker was also a part of the club's rebrand in 2020 and improvements at PNC Stadium including new video boards, premium seating areas, and safe standing for supporters.
“I’ve really enjoyed working for the Club and am extremely proud of all that has been accomplished,” Walker said. “I appreciate ownership’s support in this decision and am grateful for the opportunity to lead the Club during such a transformational period. We have built a solid foundation both on and off the pitch, and the Club is well-positioned for success this season and in the coming years.”
